The members at Westchester Hills Golf Club have a full calendar of events and newly renovated amenities to keep them busy all year round. Our new pool facility features a Junior Olympic heated pool, kiddie pool area, luxury chaise lounges & day beds, along with our Pool Grill that provides some delicious poolside offerings.

The Golf Experience

Westchester Hills Golf Club dates all the way back to 1913 when it was designed by the first Head Pro, Peter Clark. The course features fairways lined with mature trees, rolling hills, and contoured greens. Westchester Hills also features practice facilities including a driving range and two large greens to fine-tune your short game.

1913

The Early Years

Our club was incorporated on November 1, 1913, under the name Gedney Farm Country Club. The Club began as a recreation facility associated with a nearby resort hotel called the Gedney Farm Hotel.

1921

Officially Westchester Hills Golf Club

In 1921 the Club purchased its property from Gedney Farm Hotel and changed its name to Westchester Hills Golf Club.

1924

A New Clubhouse Following A Fire

In 1924, Westchester Hills had a minor clubhouse fire. The Club decided to build a new fireproof clubhouse with an internal sprinkler system. Noted architect Frank Moore created a new Northern Italian-style structure which opened on April 15, 1926.

1953

Swimming Pool Built

In 1953 our membership decided to add a swimming pool to our list of amenities offered. This swimming pool is still one of the biggest staples at Westchester Hills today for all members. Each and every summer season we look forward to a packed swimming pool and kids area. It wouldn't be summer without the organized swim team and many swim games each weekend.

1961

First Governor's Day

In 1961, the first annual Governor's Day was held at Westchester Hills to honor past and present board members. The event included lunch, a golf tournament, and a black tie dinner. Until the death in 2012, Bud Treacy attended all but one of the Governor's Day events. Our Governor's Day event is something we look forward to each year to relive the long history of Westchester Hills Golf Club!

1980s

First Irrigation System

In the early 1980's, the first irrigation system was installed on the golf course. Prior to this, the course had no rough, and balls would roll a long way after landing. With irrigation came tall rough surrounding narrow fairways. The course changed from a wide open "bomb it anywhere" course to more of a position course.

2000

Kids Activities

In 2000 our membership decided it was necessary to built a kids area and kids pool at the club. Our membership started growing with more and more young families and that is still the case today. Our youngest Westchester Hills members are still utilizing that same kids pool with mushroom today!

2012

Troon Management

In 2012 Troon Golf Management was hired and our membership took on a large project to renovate the clubhouse, halfway house, outside patio and pool locker rooms. We couldn't be happier with the renovations that were done and we thank our entire membership for their help and support!

2021

Pool Facility Renovations

In 2021, the area surrounding the pool was renovated to capture a resort style feel. Luxury chaise lounges, day beds, dining patio, and pool bar are among the upgrades to the facility. The beautiful lighting throughout the stonework makes the new space a perfect spot for transitioning from day to night.

2022

Rees Jones Renovation

Our golf course renovation & re-design, by world renowned course architect Rees Jones, was debuted to our membership in Spring 2022. Rees' vision was to liven our classic & historic golf course while upgrading playability & the overall golf experience. The renovation included green expansions of over 20,000 sq. ft, a full bunker renovation, irrigation replacement & various other elements to enhance aesthetics & shot variety for golfers of all-skill levels.

2023

New Golf Simulator

At Westchester Hills, our members value a year-round experience. Our new simulator room will cure the winter blues and keep your swinging smooth all winter. The simulators feature state-of-the-art technology from Foresight golf, a brand-new putting lab, and lounge area. The simulator also features a multi-sport function offering a variety of sports such as soccer, baseball, hockey and more to indulge interest for all.
